Great Britain Cycling Team’s Bethany Shriever took a career-best result with sixth place at round two of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup.
The 18-year-old junior, who has won all four rounds of the UEC BMX European Cup, rode superbly to reach the final eight in Papendal on Sunday and lined up alongside Olympic and world champion Mariana Pajon in the Netherlands.
Shriever, who had never reached a world cup final before, started from gate five as Dutch rider Laura Smulders completed the double after triumphing on Saturday.
Semi-finals for Evans
Podium Programme rider Kyle Evans reached the semi-finals where a poor start cost the 23-year-old.
Rio Olympian Evans looked impressive as he took wins in the first round as well as the 1/16, 1/8 and 1/4 finals.
Senior Academy rider Paddy Sharrock exited in the 1/8 finals having been drawn in the same heat as Evans.
Quillan Isidore also went out at the 1/8 stage as Tre Whyte saw his day end in the 1/16 finals when he was forced off the final straight in his heat.

In the women’s event, Blaine Ridge-Davis reached the 1/8 final, via the last chance round, but could not finish in the top four to progress to the quarter-finals.
Rounds three and four
Rounds three and four of the 2017 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup take place on 13-14 May in Zolder, Belgium.
