The British Cycling Club Development Programme supports club who are aspiring to become an Accredited Club. 

If the club is coaching sessions for children and young people we encourage the club to apply for Club Development Programme. 

The purpose of the Club Development Programme is to recognise, reward and enhance clubs that can demonstrate that they are structured and safe, and ready to work towards Accredited Club status. 

Additionally, for clubs looking to grow and develop, this programme will support you to do so by offering tailored development opportunities from our network of both national and regional club development teams.

With Club Accreditation, any current and future members of clubs can be safe in the knowledge that they are attending a reputable club, checked and guaranteed by British Cycling.

Furthermore, many clubs are already practicing excellent operating standards and we are keen to recognise and reward these clubs through this exciting offer.

Accessing the Club Development Programme

To be part of the Club Development Programme your club needs to contact the British Cycling Clubs team to discuss the specific needs of the club.

Club Accreditation

If a club is operating to a high standard it can apply for Club Accreditation. Club Accreditation award means British Cycling have checked that the club is well structure, safe and coaching to a high sandard in line with British Cycling's benchmarking. The purpose of Club Accreditation is to give riders and parent the assurance the club's activities are safe for their child.

What does your club gain from Club Accreditation?

  • Ongoing support from a our regional sport development team and HQ.
  • Resources including branded kit for your club’s workforce.
  • Free membership for up to five qualified coaches.
  • Publicity through club details on the British Cycling website and support with event promotion.
  • Use of the Club Accreditation logo on any material relating to the club and its activities. 
  • Access to coaching and training bursaries to support the cost of qualifications for your workforce.

Once the club is ready Club Accreditation registration can be created here.

*Accredited clubs must complete annual health checks and fully reapply after 3 years to keep their accreditation to the programme.
