Graham loves to ride solo and hopes to take on the mighty Fred Whitton Challenge but despite being a lone wolf, the 51-year old from York wouldn't turn down the chance to ride with heroes Victoria Pendleton or Graeme Obree.

Name: Graham Morris

Age: 51

From: York

Club: Not joined one (yet) – I enjoy the peace and ability to focus on solo rides. Although I do enjoy it when I meet riders and they all talk about joining a club so who knows?

What kind of riding do you do?

I commute Monday to Thursday (12 miles to work and 17 miles home), Tuesday and Thursday ride home involves different zoned interval training so the length may vary. Rest Friday ready for a long ride early Saturday morning.

What do you enjoy most about cycling?

I love the feeling of freedom, with the exhilaration of doing it relying on your fitness and bike preparation only.

What’s your favourite ride?

Any that offer plenty of climbing. I completed the Hoy 100 on 7 September 2014, my first organised event, it was fantastic, probably my favourite ride to date (6 hours and 40 minutes ride time). Going to try and enter the Fred Whitton Challenge in May and see if it can take top slot!

What’s your top cycling tip to share?

Follow your heart... Ride with conviction. Keep the pace changing and always look for small improvements.

If you had a tandem, who would you like to ride it with?

The obvious choice would be Victoria Pendleton...wow that would be good. In reality I think it would be Graeme Obree, focussed and committed with innovative and off the wall ideas to keep you thinking.
