Cycle Sport & Membership Marketing Manager

Salary Band 5 (£28k-£35k per annum, depending on experience)
British Cycling is the internationally recognised governing body for cycling in the UK. It is also one of the leading governing bodies across all sport in the UK, with 28,000 members who have access to a calendar of well over 2,500 events spread across 6 cycle sport disciplines. With London 2012 on the horizon, British Cycling will be an exciting place to work, with the organisation at the centre of a once-in-a-generation opportunity to develop the sport.
The Role
This is a new and exciting opportunity to provide marketing and communications support to British Cycling's rapidly growing and highly successful Cycle Sport and Membership (CSM) directorate. The CSM department is responsible for all British Cycling sanctioned or endorsed events from World Championships to non-competitive sporting events such as Sportives and Enduros. Current priority events include the 2009 Track World Cup and Para Cycling World Championships, 2010 Mountain Bike World Cup, 2011 Track World Cup, 2012 BMX World Championships and major domestic events including National Championships and National Series across the cycling disciplines.

Applicants will need to possess:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Substantial experience in event marketing
• Extensive project planning and management experience
• Ability to work independently on long-term projects and as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail
All of our permanent employees are automatically awarded Gold Membership of British Cycling. Our hours of work are 37.5 per week, although weekend and evening work will be required. Membership of the pension scheme is offered on completion of 6 months service. British Cycling operates a salary sacrifice Childcare Voucher Scheme. Free parking is available to all staff at the National Cycling Centre.
