Will Longden has taken a further lead in the British Fourcross Series following a convincing win at round four, held in Penshurst.

On a dry track to which Longden has been coming since 1993, the fourcross course was more of a mix between downhill and dual; a good gate essential before the first turn and an almost singletrack run over whoops, on a steep downhill to the finish.

As the day progressed turns became washed out and it wasn't a short track either, with times taking over a minute; Longden describing the style required to win as "a fast gate with eight stop and start sprints."

With a clear progression to the finals Longden made it three wins and a third position so far in the series, turning the winning dominance of Scott Beaumont in 2009, who has been absent this year thanks to a series of injuries for the British Champion.

As the domestic fourcross scene moves to South West Extreme for the British Championships, Britain's best fourcross riders make the international trip to Italy for the UCI World Cup, which will be live on Freecaster.
