Ben Price on his way to the win
Round 2 of the Go-MTB race series saw a 50/50 split between mountain bikes and cyclo cross bikes in the Mid Shropshire Wheelers races at the Shrewsbury Sports Village.
Venue for the Midland Regional Cyclo Cross Championships, the National Cyclo Cross Points Series Final and a round of the Waldrons Solicitors West Midland Cyclo Cross League, riders had a chance to preview this fantastic venue but for the second week running it was the mountain bikers who came out on top.
The 30 minute race for under 16s was won in convincing fashion by under 14 rider Ewan Grivell-Mellor whilst the combined Junior, Senior and Veterans race was a repeat win for Ben Price of the Torq mountain bike team from the promoting club's Will Witterick. A close race early on with several riders in contention but Ben pulled away with amazingly consistent lap times throughout the 60 minutes and one lap of racing.
The third and final round takes place at Shrewsbury Sports Village on Friday 12th August.
