Welsh Cycling are delivering a Track Attack programme this coming Half-Term to allow young people the opportunity to access the Newport Velodrome.
Our Track Attack programme has been running for a number of years and has helped introduce hundreds of young people to the thrill of track cycling. Following a very succesfully year for the sport cycling is very much in the spotlight and we want to take this opportunity to introduce young people who have caught the cycling bug to come and try the sport.
Our Development Officer for South Wales has been impressed with the young people taking up cycling this summer:
"It's been fantastic to see the number of young people trying out cycling and often for the very first time. We've had a variety of riders take part, from hardened road or MTB club members looking to try something different to riders who are not club members and simply been inspired by what they have seen on TV.
Many of the riders who have taken part in the Track Attack sessions have progressed on to take part in our regular Wednesday Development Track sessions and I'm really looking forward to seeing them compete next year in track races."
The next opportunity to take part in a Track Attack will be Friday the 31st of October, booking is essential and can be made via this link
