Ride coordinator Gavin McLaughlin has been in touch with this message:

"The bike ride is to raise awareness of the Liverpool Loop line and what a fantastic cycling resource it is. It is also to raise awareness of the cycling schemes on going in Liverpool and to encourage more people to use cycling as a mode of transport and to recognise it is a fun and relaxing way to improve your health.

With more than 80 cyclists registered so far its shaping up to be a great day. If you are taking part on the day please bring some snack food and refreshments (Refreshments are being provided on the day, but just in case there is not enough to go round), also please wear clothing that is suited to the weather and may I also recommend wearing a pair of gloves.

As there is a large quantity of cyclists cycling on the path please make sure you leave a safe distance between you and the cyclist in front. Also please be aware of any other cyclists, pedestrians on the path and give them plenty of room when passing."
