Bike Around Brands 2009

For the fourth year running Swanley & North Downs Lions are running a fund raising bicycle event at Brands Hatch motor racing circuit, courtesy of MotorSport Vision Ltd. This year the ride will revert to the famous 1.2 mile Indy Circuit, most of which is visible from the spectator's stand.
Riders may start at any time from 6.30 p.m. & finish by 8.30 p.m., but it is not a race, & they set their own target for the number of laps they intend to complete. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult at all times & under 18s must have a parent or responsible adult present to accept the ride conditions on their behalf. Appropriate protective clothing should be worn.
There is no limit on sponsorship, indeed some riders have contributed hundreds of pounds in previous years, but to ensure that the chosen causes receive maximum benefit riders are asked for minimum sponsorship of £10 per adult & £5 for under 16s. All sponsor money is to be paid to the Lions who will pass it on to the Ellenor Lions Hospice & other deserving causes in the local community. Donations that are made by tax-paying sponsors, who give their details on the form, can be boosted courtesy of Gift Aid.
By being sponsored & taking part riders will be helping those who have a life threatening illness, or are in need of help for other reasons. The money that they raise will make a difference!
