Five of the six riders for the Tour of Britain celebrating a victory during the Tour Series. Their attention now turns to a longer, more arduous stage race by the same organisation.

Kristian demonstrated his readiness for the Tour of Britain this weekend with a day of riding that began at the Tour Ride in Stoke on Trent where he led a group of riders from new sponsor Sharp around the 90 mile course. From there it was a quick dash down to Warwick where he finished the latest round of the National Elite Mens Circuit Series in the main bunch having worked tirelessly for his team mates in his last major work out before the start of Tour of Britain.

Joining Kristian at the start in Scunthorpe on the 12th will be Chris Newton who finished third in the Men's National Time Trial Championships (Sunday), former Australian National champion Darren Lapthorne, African Nations Champion Dan Craven, Irish RAS winner Simon Richardson, with Tom Southam rounding off a squad with strength in-depth and the ability to spring a surprise on any of the races eight stages.

Talking about the decisions behind the selection John Herety said: “It was fairly easy selection process, with the only tough decision being whether Ben Greenwood could make the team following the all clear after his recent illness in China. But in talks with Ben it was felt that his form isn’t quite where it needs to be for a race of this stature. He’ll concentrate now in making himself ready for the teams objectives out in Australia over the winter”

With the 6 riders all showing good form over recent weeks the team are looking forward to their national tour. John Herety said: “The recent addition of three new sponsors gives the team renewed impetus. We’ll be proud to show off the logos of Sharp4Prostate, Paul Smith and Malmaison on the jersey and looking for every opportunity to put those names on show on the podium throughout the race”

The Tour of Britain begins on 12th September in Scunthorpe
