Leslie Bike Shop and Right Move Windows are the main sponsors. Andy Hain and Raymond Reidy are both excited about the 2010 season with the larger and stronger team. Other sponsors include Extreme Nutrition providing the team with specialist supplements, J McCaffery Roofing, Glenrothes Fabrications, W.Simpson & Sons – Scottish Craft Butchers, Jim McLeod Plasterer, Powerbar and MGM Timber. The team has once again included a mixture of youth and experience in its line up for 2010. Former World Masters 3000 metre Pursuit Champion Graham Barclay continues as road team captain. Although the youngsters in the team are hoping to learn from their team-mates, they have a list of results which outshine their seniors.
Triathlete’s Andrew Hood and Cameron Milne are members of the triathlon Olympic Talent Squad and played a key role in qualifying the Great Britain team for the European youth relay. Cameron is current British Youth Triathlon Champion. Joining them in the Junior ranks are Matthew Hamilton, Callum Foster and Kyle Yates who are all in the Scottish Development Squad. Kyle is Scottish Youth Road Race Champion.
The senior team moves up a gear from last year with Scott Macrae, Alistair Robinson and Kevin Barclay making the move from last years Endura team. Supporting these riders will be Jim Meek, Callum McGregor and last years team of Raymond Reidy, Gary McCrae, Graham Barclay, John McCaffery, Brendon Roe and Andrew Brierley.
Scott Macrae and Ali Robinson returned from wintering in Spain to be at the presentation and are looking forward to the season opener where they will also lead the team in some rounds of the Premier Calendar Series. Off roading Gary McCrae and John McCaffery are joined by Alex Slaven who has already chalked up a win this year for the team in the Strathpuffer 24 hour mountain bike race, Paul Newnham (a former British Expert Champion), Natalie Milne (3rd place in the Scottish Female Sport MTB XC Championships) and the youngest team member 14 year old Callum Foster. Also in the team are Damien Slorach, Mike Nellies, Mark Barnett and Gary Beall.
The team are looking to improve on their impressive list of results from last year and will target the Scottish Super6 road race series, Scottish time trial championships, Scottish sxc championships, Scottish Road Race Championship and the World Masters Track Championships. The team is also looking to securing top 10 finishes in some Premier Calendar events.
First event of the 2010 road season for the team will be the first round of the Scottish Super6 series at Gifford. The team is looking to improve on last years series and are defending the A race Junior (Matthew Hamilton) and the B race Sprints (Brendan Roe) and over 50 (Graham Barclay) titles. The road team will also be out for victory in the Newcastle Cheviot Easter 4 day with a strong eight man team entered.
Off road, the mountain bike team kick off their season, in the middle of March at Kirroughtree Forest in Dumfries with the first round of the SXC series. The team are defending the Veteran title (Gary McCrae) and are out to take the team award this year.
