I have been impressed by Emma all season,” comments Jeroen Blijlevens, Director Sportive of Nederland Bloeit, ”you do not get to beat riders like Vos, Arndt and Pooley in time trials with-out a big engine. Also, as a racer she is consistent and has been in a lot of very good breaks in some very good races this year. We think she is a fantastic addition to the team.

Whilst training near her adopted hometown of Oudenaarde in Belgium, Trott was involved in the accident that injured many of the continental based GB squad in early 2010 and sustained a fractured collar bone but came back to feature heavily in the Sparkassen Giro and the notoriously hard Holland Hills Classic in Limburg.

It’s an unbelievable feeling,” says Trott “there have been times when I’ve wondered if it was ever going to happen for me but to be able to ride alongside Marianne and all the other girls is an incredible feeling. Just goes to show, keep going whatever happens!

Emma, who hails from Cheshunt in Hertfordshire, began her riding career with Welwyn Wheelers, taking both the Junior National 25 mile TT title and the Junior Omnium Championships in 2005 which she followed up with the Junior National Road Race title in 2006.

She is expected to begin her 2011 campaign alongside Vos in the Spring Classics where her strength and tactical awareness are ideally suited to the team.
