Brooks brings Penny Farthing Racing to the City of London

Posted: 5th May 2011
Event: 11th June 2011

Penny Farthing Racing hits the streets of the City of London at the IG Markets London Nocturne on June 11th with prestigious saddle and cycle bag brand Brooks confirmed as the race sponsor.

Competitors from across the globe will compete in a sprint and endurance race as they aim to win the Ordinary Trophy and take home a top of the range Brooks leather saddle. The sprint race will take place over 1 mile while the Ordinary Trophy is scheduled for 30 minutes plus 5 laps.

With 30 racers already confirmed the Brooks Penny Farthing Race will provide a unique spectacle in the heart of the capital.

"We try to introduce a new feature race each so we jumped at the chance to include Penny racing in the programme" commented Nocturne founder James Pope. "There is an established Penny Farthing community across the world and we will have competitors from USA, Europe and even Tasmania travelling to London to race. One Penny Farthing is enough to turn heads so having 30 of them race on the London streets will be spectacular."

Brooks PR Manager Bregan Faika commented on the partnership,

"We are delighted to be involved with the London Nocturne and are looking forward to bringing Penny Farthing racing back to the streets of London. Brooks England is steeped in history and tradition which involved creating saddles and components for Ordinary bicycles so the Penny Farthing Race is a natural fit for us."

Further details and entry for the Brooks Penny Farthing Race is open on www.londonnocturne.com and only experienced riders are advised to sign up.For more information on Brooks go to www.brooksengland.com.
