Second in last week’s opening round, High Wycombe CC’s Steve Golla went one better in the second round when he secured victory in the E123 race at the Hillingdon circuit in London on Saturday.
Golla, 37 and from Buckinghamshire, showed his younger rivals the benefit of his expertise when he held off Prestige VC 16-year-old Rory Townsend for the win, while third spot went to another teenager, 18-year-old Stephen Bradbury (AW Cycles) from Reading.
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Londoner Iain Palmer (Twickenham CC) won the third cat race from Woldingham-based rival Dominic Clegg (Redhill CC), while Peter Giddings was third.
And Rob Sharland led a one-two for Kingston Wheelers in the fourth cat race, the 24-year-old from Surbiton edging out team-mate Jason Gardiner from Esher, while Jorge Alberzoni (London Dynamo) finishing third.
