Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Event: 30 June 2012
Report: Snowdon Sports
Given special dispensation to ride in the third-category field, 16-year-old Danny Fox (Solihull CC) showed his older rivals the way to do it as town centre racing returned to Redditch for the first time since the 1960s.
Following up his overall Isle of Man Youth Tour victory, Fox edged out veteran Phil Blacker (Team Jewson-Thule) on the line after 40 minutes and two final laps of close racing on the kilometre-long circuit with Sean Mungovan (Beacon RCC) in third.
The meeting, which also included Come Ride, Go-Ride and Go-Race events, drew a good crowd of spectators and with strong support from Redditch Council, promoters Redditch Road & Path CC hope to make it a regular on the calendar.
