Ben Greenwood (vanillabikes.com) powered to a masterful win in the Billy Warnock Memorial Road Race in Grangemouth on Sunday.
The 28-year-old bided his time as attacks went in all around the course before breaking away on his own on the final lap of five.
The course, which takes in two small climbs but is otherwise quite flat, was lauded as one of the best by Greenwood and he said he’d like to see more like it.
And it seemed to suit Greenwood perfectly as he opened up a gap of 49 seconds on his nearest rivals before crossing the line.
Six other riders fought it out for second place with a sprint finish and it was Andrew Hawdon of Herbalife Leisure Lakes Bikes.com who pipped GJS RT’s Craig Adams to the runner up spot.
