2013 South West Youth A & B Circuit Series Rider Information

Saturday 6th April Cornish Series No. 2 Portreath
Tuesday 28th May Tour Series – Torquay
Sunday 9th June BC South West Youth Stage Race
Tuesday 2nd July East Devon Circuit Race Series 4
Tuesday 16th July East Devon Circuit Race Series 6
Friday 16th August Paignton Regatta Circuit Races
Youth A (Under 16's) and Youth B (Under 14's) will ride together in the same race competing equally for their position in the race for series points and individual event prizes as decided upon by the organising club.
Girls and Boys in the event although they may race together will have their positions recorded separately for their individual placing at the event and points towards the separate Girls and Boys points table.
Although Youth A and B riders will race together gear restriction will apply.
Youth A maximum gear size - 6.93m *52x16 with 700c wheels
Youth B maximum gear size - 6.45m *48x16 with 700c wheels
Gear checks will be undertaken before riders may sign on to race. If you are unsure of how to comply with this rule please arrive a little earlier for your first event where event officials will be happy to help you.
This year there will be 7 events that will make up the series with each competitors highest 5 placings in the series counting towards their overall total. There will be no minimum number of events required to ensure your points are counted in the series table.
The series is aimed at improving the standard of racing within the south west and will also be used to help select representative teams for regional events which the South West has excepted an invitation. As with all racing we hope this series will be fun and enjoyable for all the competitors and everyone involved with the races. For riders to achieve good results in the SW Circuit Series it is anticipated that they will also be supporting other South West races which will be a key part of their development and where possible to experience National Youth Circuit Races.
All the events will be held on closed road circuits under British Cycling Regulations.
