Ian Kendall (Liverpool Century RC) finally took the victory he deserved in round 17 of the Litherland series in Liverpool.
After placing in 14 of the 16 previous rounds his highest finish was fifth going into the latest event on Wednesday night.
Kendall, aged 43, from Liverpool stormed clear of a depleted leading group to take a clear two second win which was his first of the season.
Coming home to take second place was experienced veteran Paul Cheetham, from Manchester and in third place was Mark McGavock (Southport CC).
There were no entrants for the fourth category and women’s race and in the youth races Luke Cheetham (Eastlands Velo) took top spot in the under-14’s race.
