Scoring his fourth win of the series, Alex Bottomley (Wheelbase Altura MGD) took the elite honours in the 12th round of Cycle Development North East’s Criterium League at Middlesbrough Cycle Circuit.

The Saltburn 19-year-old got the better of Robert Watson (Dirtwheels Cycles), himself a double winner, and Craig Anderson (Achieve-Skinnergate Racing), while Richmond veteran Steve Williamson (Achieve-Skinnergate Racing), 44, took the third and fourth-category honours in only his third race of the season.
