Just in time to act as the perfect Christmas gift, tickets for the UCI Tissot Track Nations Cup event in Glasgow between the 21st and 24th April 2022 are now on general sale, starting from just £16 for adults.

The event will be the first elite-level international track cycling event to be held at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome since December 2019 and will bring together the best riders in the world, in what promises to be a thrilling weekend of action.

For the Great Britain Cycling Team, they’ll be looking to fine tune their preparations for a host of premier track cycling events, notably the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham just a matter of months later, and then the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships – which will also take place in Glasgow and across Scotland the following year.

With several Scots likely to be in action, Katie Archibald, who won a world title at the UCI Track Cycling World Championship in Roubaix, France in October, to add to the Olympic gold and silver medals she secured in the Madison and team pursuit respectively, believes that the competition will give her home crowd something to really shout about.

"The work towards Paris has already started for the whole team and next year’s Nations Cup will be an early marker to put some strong performances in and see where we’re at. Competing at home is always a bonus, and I know the crowd will enjoy it."

The 2021 Nations Cup saw fantastic rides from Scots such as Kyle Gordon – who beat Olympic medallist Claudio Imhoff to win silver in the Individual Pursuit at the St Petersburg round of the competition – and 2022 looks set to be no different, after a five medal Olympic haul in Tokyo.
