After another full week of events announcements as part of our Scottish Cycling Advent Calendar it was about time to recap what has been announced so far.

As part of the Tour of Britiain Grand Depart, Ythan CC and Aberdeen will host the 2022 Scottish National Senior and Junior Criterium Championships on closed road in the city centre in September. This will be the first Scottish National Criteium Championship in a city centre since 2016, when Stirling hosted the event.

The first two rounds of the 2022 UCI BMX Racing World Cup will take place in Glasgow on the weekend of the 28th and 29th May. This will be the first international BMX event to take place in the city since the 2018 European Championships, where Kyle Evans and Kye Whyte secured a famous British one-two in front of a raucous home crowd.

Next year’s event will once again take place at the Glasgow BMX Centre, which will also host the BMX events at the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships and is a base to a variety of clubs including the Western Titans BMX club, Glasgow Riderz and Movement Park, as well as schools and emerging new community groups from across Scotland.

Ticket details for the event will be announced in due course.

Glasgow will also play host the UCI Track Nations Cup in April 2022, with the world's best track racers coming to the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome for a weekend of action.

In 2021, Scot Kyle Gordon produced a fantastic ride at the St Petersburg round, winning a silver medal in the Individual Pursuit. With Gordon expected to be joined by #Tokyo2020 Scottish heroes such as Katie Archibald and Jack Carlin, there's no reason to delay by getting your tickets now.

Cycle Speedway’s Home International will take place in Dunfermline in May with Fife Cycle Speedway hosting the battle of the home nations, in what will be exciting, no holds barred racing, as riders fight it out for national pride.

The Kingdom of will host an assortment of Road Events over the next 12 months.

Dunfermline CC will organise the Scottish National Junior Men and Junior Women’s Road Race on the 10th April 2022. Whilst Spokes RT will organise a round of both the British Youth and Junior Series. The Spokes RT Kingdom Classic - Youth Stage Race will take place in Fife on the weekend of the 11th and 12th June, with the Kingdom also hosting the Spokes RT Kingdom Classic - Junior Stage Race on the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd July.
