Luisa Steele broke the Scottish Flying 200m record, not once but twice (subject to ratification) at the first day of the Commonwealth Games Qualifier in Glasgow. 

Steele, riding in her Team Breeze colours broke the time of 11.206 set by Lauren Bell in her first attempt with a 11.162 before ever so slightly bettering her own PB with a 11.160 just over an hour later. While all Scottish Records are subject to ratification from the Scottish Cycling Events Team, it was a fanatstic start to the event.

Steele told Scottish Cycling:
"I'm really pleased with how my first run went, and still I think I can do better - there's still a bit more there."

Jonathan Wale also produced a 4:13.141 in the Men's Individual Pursuit, breaking the 4:17.000 qualifying standard for the games.Tim Shoreman was the second quickest with a 4:21.220, and there was also a Personal Best for Daniel Kain (Spokes RT) with a  4:31.7.

A new kit was in action as the Alba Development Road Team made their debut, as did their rider Kate Richardson in the Individual Pursuit with the former triathlete producing a time of 3:41.9 as new teammate Sophie Lankford was quickest with a 3:38.869.

A massive thank you is extended from Scottish Cycling to all the Commasaires, Event Organisers (Kenny Steele and Ben Proctor) and Commonwealth Games Scotland for making this event happen at such sort notice.
