Winner of the Tour of the Meldons a week earlier, Alan Thomson (Sandy Wallace Cycles) underlined his good form with a clear victory in Fife CA’s Mackie Tankard 25-mile time trial at Freuchie.

The 32-year-old Glaswegian clocked 53-41 in windy and, at times, wet conditions for a winning margin in excess of a minute over nearest challenger, Rab Carson (Team Leslie Bikes).
