Cycle Speedway in Scotland

About Cycle Speedway

Cycle Speedway must be a contender for the title of most intense cycle sport. Races are short - usually four laps of an outdoor 70-90 metre circuit, lasting around 35-40 seconds - and physical contact is both legal and often necessary. Four riders contest a race, usually in pairs from opposing clubs.  Click here to keep reading about Cycle Speedway.

Get into Cycle Speedway

Because of its strong club and league structure and the fact that it takes place on purpose-built tracks, Cycle Speedway is one of the easiest forms of cycle sport to get into.

Most clubs welcome newcomers and many of them have bikes available to loan to beginners and coaches willing to tutor the basic skills.

There is currently only one purpose built track in Scotland.  Click here to locate it – why not go along to watch an event first?  Check out the Edinburgh Falcons Cycle Speedway club  or Glasgow cycle speedway club website to find out more
