Sky staff are getting back on the saddle

We’re going crazy at Sky!  As part of our steely determination to get everyone at Sky back on the saddle, we have a new bike shop, bike deals, bike doctors and cycle incentives like Sir Chris Hoy visiting our call centres.

We’re even sending an amateur team of employees to The Etape du Tour, an actual leg of the Tour de France. This isn’t a challenge to be taken lightly, as the 172km route includes five climbs and finishes at the mythical Mont Ventoux, where the summit is known to have 100mph winds, snow or even a scorching furnace! The team are busy training and promise to tell us how they’re getting on.

Of course cycling doesn’t have to be this challenging, so we’re also planning other summer cycling activities that our staff can get involved in with Skyride Local also taking place around our sites. And we’ll be encouraging staff to swap the petrol for the pedals, and cycle to work with Bike to Work week.
