What to Bring?

We weren't lying when we said all you need is a bike, a sense of humour and lots of enthusiasm. But there are obviously a few other things you might want to bring along to make the whole experience even more enjoyable. Here are some suggestions:

  • A bike helmet (recommended for everyone)
  • A bike lock (with the key or combination, of course)
  • A puncture repair kit, spare tubes and bike pump (just in case)
  • Snacks and a water bottle (to keep those energy levels up)
  • A packed lunch (or money if you're not that organised)
  • A camera (essential for snapping the team)
  • Your mobile phone (and hands free kit)
  • A print out of the route and hubs (unless you like getting lost)
  • Suncream and sunglasses (if you're feeling optimistic)
  • Waterproofs (if you're feeling less optimistic)

Some things you might want to leave at home:

  • The cat (sorry)
  • The ipod (there'll be live music on the day)
  • The kitchen sink (think less is more)

Free Sky Ride Hi-Vis vests

On the day we'll be handing out free Skyride Hi-Vis cycle vests from hubs found along the route. Not only will these make you visible on the day, but they'll keep you safe as you wind your way home too.

I'm ready to register for Sky Ride now.
