Business Support for Kirklees Cycling Academy

Four weeks on from the launch of the Kirklees Cycling Academy, the club is delighted to have already secured the commitment of six local businesses. All six businesses have been impressed by the concept of the KCA and what the club is striving to achieve for young people in the Kirklees area.

They are all keen to play a major part in helping the club achieve its future goals and aspirations and are committed to helping our local young people have fun and access the exciting sport of cycle racing. The KCA has already got 20 members and membership numbers are steadily increasing each week.

Jennifer Davies, Partner at Revell Ward said “We are proud to sponsor the KCA. At Revell Ward, we encourage our staff to push their limits and achieve their goals. It is a pleasure to work with Darren and the other sponsors to help young people to do the same”.

Each of the six sponsors - Da Sandro Pizzeria, CMS Vocational Training, Revell Ward Chartered Accountants, Sowerby Brothers Cycles, Normanton Advertiser and Brighter Connections - are all home-grown success stories and are committed, successful companies whose employees display a passion for life and a winning attitude!

Thanks to the sponsors’ support, the KCA have already been able to purchase three bikes. One Specialized and two custom built cycles assembled by Sowerby Brothers Cycles in Mirfield will be used in training sessions and can also be loaned out to KCA members for a minimal charge. As the racing season approaches, the club is looking forward to helping existing and new members enter their first races in the new club jersey of the Kirklees Cycling Academy.

The new club jersey is available to order via the KCA website at www.k-ca.org, or through Sowerby Brothers Cycles in Mirfield, with a £5 discount available for club members. Training sessions take place every Thursday evening, from 7pm-8pm, at Spen Valley Sports College and cost £2.50 per week.
