The charity Leonard Cheshire Disability has launched three Cycle Together inclusive bike rides for 2014 in the New Forest, Norfolk and the Peak District.

Following the success of West Norfolk’s first ever sportive cycling event in June 2013, Cycle Together Sandringham will be back on Sunday 13 July with two new events Cycle Together Bournemouth to New Forest on Sunday 29 June and Cycle Together Peak District on Sunday 20 July. In year one the event raised £18k and this year we aim to raise £64k from the three events.

Cycle Together is a series of cycle sportive events for people of all ages and abilities. All events are open to disabled and non-disabled people and are ideal for everyone from a beginner to professional cyclists.

With distances of 10, 20, 50 and 100 miles to choose from, this is a ride for all the family, as well as for experienced cyclists. The 10- and 20-mile routes are suitable for all ages and abilities.

Matt Smith, Leonard Cheshire Disability Sports Events Manager, said: “With preparations well underway we are very excited about the Cycle Together series for 2014.”

“More than 500 riders joined us as part of a fantastic day last year with 86% recommending the experience to a friend.”

“We believe that everybody should be given the chance to take part in sports if they want to, whatever their ability. We are expanding Cycle Together to encourage just that. So why not sign up, get cycling and raise some funds for Leonard Cheshire Disability?”

All money raised from each event will go to supporting disabled people at a nearby Leonard Cheshire Disability service.
