The self proclaimed toughest Peak District sportive is now less two weeks away. After a successful inaugural event in 2013, this year the Peak Epic looks to cement itself amongst the hardest sportives within the country.

Starting and finishing from the picturesque market town of Bakewell. The route spans the breadth of the Peak District passing over the climbs of Longstone Edge, Higger Tor, Bradwell Moor, Mam Tor, Pyms Chair plus over the famous Cat and Fiddle via the Goyt Valley.

Not just for the fittest – there are 101km medium and 63km short route options for the more sane, for those that want a challenge but not one that will take upwards of seven hours.

The 2014 event takes place on Sunday June 1 from the impressive Lady Manners School on the outskirts of Bakewell. Hard standing parking; undercover registration; toilets and changing facilities
