Want to put your bike to the test with a feat of endurance? MTBepics is launching two unique three-day, fully supported, off road cross-country events.
The first ride, Downs to Plains (15-17 August) sets off from Dorking to Salisbury and showcases some of the best scenery the south of England has to offer including the likes of the Test Valley, Clarendon Way Roman Road, South Downs and Cowdrey Estate.
Backed by three time Olympic rider Liam Killeen as well as Olympian and three time British XC champion Oli Beckingsale, who helped plan the point to point routes, this event has been carefully designed to be both challenging but achievable for all skill levels.
Three-time Olympian Oli says:
“The UK has been crying out for events like MTBepics for a long time, so it is great to be involved with them. Mountain biking is growing rapidly in popularity, something these events demonstrate by enabling participants to focus on the rides. It is all about the challenge, the endurance, the experience and the exhilaration. These events have it all and so much more…”
Both Downs to Plains and the second event later this summer - Fort to Fort - are one of a kind in the mountain bike scene. The idea of just turning up, bringing your bike and then riding off into the beautiful countryside, fully supported is completely new.
Each expedition covering approximately 140 miles and 5000 feet of vertical climb over the three days with entry, food, accommodation and entertainment all provided. Optional extras include sports massage and luxury accommodation too.
With world class endorsements and carefully planned out routes these events are going to be nothing short of epic. Anyone aged 21 or over can enter, with no specific entry requirements apart from good physical health and a passion for the great outdoors.
