Don’t waste the August bank holiday weekend lounging around, do something great with Halesowen Athletic and Cycling Club and support Sam Greatrex as he embarks on an epic journey around the world to break 11 world records.

Sam will be using only human power by cycling 18,000 miles and rowing 14,000 miles. The Halesowen 100 marks the start of Sam's 18 month historic journey in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Find out more about Sam's journey at www.laptheworld.com

The inaugural Halesowen One Hundred sportive will guide you through the scenic countryside south of Halesowen Athletic & Cycling Club.

A challenging route that requires a moderate level of fitness, the route starts and finishes from the clubhouse at the Halesowen Manor Abbey Stadium with an undulating ascent into the Worcestershire countryside before descending five kilometres into the first of several picturesque villages.

It continues south through country lanes before a welcoming feed station at 50 km in Hampton Lovett. After the refreshments, you continue south towards Himbleton on a relatively flat section of road before looping back through Droitwich. The final 25 km return features a challenging tree-lined climb over the Clent Hills (cat 4) followed by the long descent through Romsley village to the finish back at the clubhouse where further refreshments will be available for purchase.

Before heading home we hope you will all join us in our fully licensed bar and sample some great real ales while being entertained by a fantastic live band.

Come on, do something great.
