Dark and White’s final event of the year is a short but extremely challenging sportive, tackling the famous hill climbs in the Matlock and Derwent Valley area.
Matlock and the surrounding area is steeped with road biking hill climb history: Bank Road, Riber Road and Rowsley Bar to name just three of the well known infamous ascents.
The Matlock Top 10 celebrates the richness of the areas steep, 20 per-cent-plus gradient hill climbs by creating a route that ascends 10 of them in just 60-kilometres. That’s 1750 metres of ascent or 5742 feet in old money.
For those looking for a slightly less extreme challenge come and take part in the Matlock Top 4 – 33-kilometres based on the same route as the Top 10 but just climbing four out of the 10 climbs.
Each climb will be accompanied by en-route roadside climb boards providing information on average gradient, distance and ascent.

This short but hard sportive is the perfect road biking challenge before winter.
