Dame Laura Kenny and Katie Archibald headline a star-studded Tissot UCI Track Nations Cup at Glasgow’s Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome this weekend, with medals up for grabs against some incredible competition. Here’s everything you need to know – including how you can watch from home on the BBC.
Representing the Great Britain Cycling Team
Olympic Madison champions Laura Kenny and Archibald will feature in the endurance events alongside team pursuit silver medallist teammate Neah Evans, while Matt Walls will be back on the track for the first time since his Tokyo omnium heroics.
Paisley-born sprint star Jack Carlin, who will be competing in his first major international competition since his silver and bronze medals at the Tokyo Games, will be hoping to add an extra-special medal to his collection on his home track.
Finally, off the back of their historic bronze at the 2021 world championships in Roubaix, the women’s team sprint squad of Lauren Bate, Sophie Capewell, Blaine Ridge Davis and Milly Tanner will have their eyes on the top step of the podium this weekend.
The full Great Britain Cycling Team squad can be found here.
Around the world
In addition to the Great Britain Cycling Team riders, there are 11 Tokyo Olympic champions hungry for more medals in Glasgow, including sprint world record holders Harrie Lavreysen, Kelsey Mitchell and Jeffrey Hoogland, and the Italian team pursuit gold quartet of Filippo Ganna, Simone Consonni, Francesco Lamon and Jonathan Milan. Look out also for the impressive German women’s team pursuit squad who took the Olympic title in Tokyo, breaking the world record in the final against Great Britain.
A full list of competitors from across the nations can be found here.
