British Cycling Olympic Podium Programme athlete Matt Crampton won gold in the keirin at the the Netherlands this weekend.

The 27 year old rider from Manchester also took bronze in the kilo with a time of 1:02.690 behind Great Britain’s Kian Emadi (1:02.060), who lost to Dutch rider Hugo Haak by a mere hundredth of a second. Callum Skinner eventually placed fourth with a time of 1:03.170

In the men’s sprint, Callum Skinner placed second behind Haak with Kian Emadi and Matt Crampton taking third and fourth respectively.

Katy Marchant was the sole female representative for Great Britain. She secured a respectable fourth in the keirin final after coming back through the repecharges. She also secured another fourth place, this time in the 500m TT with an overall time of 36.110. She backed that up with yet another fourth place finish in the individual sprint at the conclusion of the event on day two.
