Day 4, July 30, 2009; Manchester Velodrome

Mens Pursuit 30–34
Simon Coughlan (Ireland) and Stuart Dodd of Great Britain again filled the Gold and Sliver positions when they battled out Thursday nights final. The event was so similar to last year that Coulghlans 3:34.643 was 4 hundredths of a second slower than the one in 2008 while Dodds was 7 hundreths slower! Boyd Roberts of Great Britain took the Bronze when he beat Italy's Sandro Di Renzo 3.42.859 to 3.45.566.

Mens Pursuit 35–39

Joel Stewart of Great Britain scored his first win in the older age category when he added the 35-39 pursuit title to last years 30-34 championship as he beat Ireland's Ian O'Hara 3.36.618 to 3.43.428. Steven Roe took the Bronze against Adam Roberts 3.41.098 to 3.44.343 to complete an all British podium.

Men 50 – 54 Years Sprint
Mark Zaschke moved up from Bronze last year to claim the Gold in a closely fought out final that went to 3 rides. Zaschke took the first in 12.707, then Steve Cronshaw countered, winning the second round in 12.962, before the 2008 Champion had to admit defeat in the final ride as Zaschke took the honours with 12.966. Welshman Keith Williams took bronze from Frenchman Eric Morel.

Mens Sprint 55–59
Steve Davies of Great Britain was hoping that he could add the Sprint Gold to the Pursuit win but was thwarted by 2008 Bronze medalist Marc Dangleterre of France who took the medal in straight riders. 12.558 and 12.540. Andy Lang of Great Britain took his first ever medal in Masters sprint events when he beat Ireland's Terry Cromer to the Bronze 12.992 and 12.788.

Mens Points 65-69
Masters newcomer Lance Ravenhill of Great Britain ensured the Gold medal when he bravely took a solo lap. With only 3 points on his score card and lying fourth, Ravenhill went off the front after the second sprint, amassing a total of 18 points, leaving Geoff Cooke to take the Silver medal ahead of 2008 Champion Guido Lupo of Italy, 13 to Lupo's 9.

Mens Points 70+
Former World Masters Champion Otto Altweck made a triumphant first appearance in the Euro Championships when he beat Great Britain's Brian Dacey by 15 points to 9, taking the first 3 of the four sprints,the German could afford to sit the last one out. However third place in the final charge to the line and the 2 points on offer were enough to give Peter Tranberg of Denmark the Bronze medal.

Womens Sprint 40+
Janet Birkmyre stood at the top of an all British podium when she beat Jeanette Baxter in two straight rides to retain her 2008 European title 13.824 and 13.866. Cheryl Owens secured her second Bronze in European events and indeed the week when she beat Heather Sanderson 14.780 14.171.
