British Cycling and Sky have today unveiled the new trade team kit for ‘Sky Track Cycling’, the team formerly known as ‘Team Sky+HD’. The kit will be worn for the first time at this weekend’s UCI Track Cycling World Cup in Manchester, taking place from 18-20 February 2011.

The look of the ‘Sky Track Cycling’ team has been aligned to that of the professional British road cycling team ‘Sky Pro Cycling’. Furthermore, the prominence given to ‘SkyRide’ on the kit underpins Sky’s commitment to get a million more people cycling by 2013 by inspiring people of all ages and abilities to get on their bikes.

The team, which includes Olympic Gold medallists Sir Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton and Jason Kenny along with Olympic Silver medallist Ross Edgar, current BMX World Champion Shanaze Reade and young sprint star Matt Crampton, will showcase the new kit at the Manchester World Cup. The striking adidas skinsuits are black with red detail and each skinsuit has been personalised, with the riders’ names and national flags printed down the side, much like the design of the Sky Pro Cycling jerseys.

Sky Track Cycling rider and four time Olympic Champion Sir Chris Hoy was involved with the development of the new kit and for him, it provides another source of motivation. "It's a really classic design, which is simple and understated, and a lot of work has gone into getting it perfect.  We're excited about racing in our new helmets and clothing - it'll be good to come out looking smart and ready to go."
