Laura Trott, Wendy Houvenaghel and Sarah Storey hit back in the women's team pursuit winning the gold medal final against New Zealand at round two of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup.
The newly-formed British trio rode in Cali, Columbia and overturned the result from qualification the night previous.
Leading from start to finish, the team of World Champions turned a one second deficeit into a five second winning margain and after the race coach Paul Manning described the role improving track conditions played.
"The veloodrome in Cali is open-sided which means changable conditions - if I'm honest those conditions improved from the qualification and that helped us to the win - a faster track was in our favour."
Manning's event-focus now moves to Laura Trott who must qualify for the omnium and Wendy Houvenaghel who races the individual pursuit.
"We won't change our approach to the omnium for Laura; it will be a case of taking one event at a time presuming she qualifies. There is a strong field here in Cali, both Sarah Hammer and Tara Whitten will ride and this will be a good test to assess performance and an indication of her progression."
