Following the success of Team Wales at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and the growth of cycling in Wales, Welsh Cycling with the support of funding from Sport Wales has reviewed its strategy for the next four years resulting in changes to the staffing structure of the organisation.

Welsh Cycling’s vision is to inspire Wales to cycle, whether that is social cycling, club cycling or achieving cycling success on the international stage. Welsh Cycling works towards the four strategic aims of:

  • Every child able to cycle
  • More people having the opportunity to cycle safely and achieve their personal goals
  • Welsh cyclists achieving international success
  • To become an  effective and sustainable organisation that provides leadership and advice to those with an interest in cycling

In order for Welsh Cycling to reach its potential, significant changes in the staffing structure of the governing body have been introduced. This will provide young people and women with more opportunities to cycle and to work towards success at future Commonwealth Games, whilst continuing its work to help support and develop cycling clubs in Wales.
