Scott Taylor has stood down as an elected Director of British Cycling today.

Due to his extensive work as a commissaire, he has decided he is unable to commit the time necessary to fulfil his duties as a Board Member to the high standards he would wish, so he will leave the position with immediate effect.

Taylor said: “I have very much enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to the development of British Cycling during my tenure and it is heartening to see the organisation move from strength to strength under Jon’s [Dutton, CEO] leadership.”

Taylor joined the Board as Non-Executive Director in November 2023 and has been the Chair of the British Cycling Commissaires and Referees Commission for over four years. As a UCI International Commissaire, he regularly attends events on the road and track, and has previously organised national level events.

In thanking Taylor for his service, Frank Slevin, British Cycling Chair said: “On behalf of British Cycling, I would like to thank Scott for his contribution and wish him well for the future. We look forward to continuing to work with Scott through his existing commissaire relationship with The Tours of Britain and with British Cycling Events Ltd.

“The Board will now work with our elected National Councillors to seek a replacement Director in due time.”
