British Cycling can today announce the 20-strong team that has been selected to represent Great Britain at the 2025 UEC Track Elite European Championships in Zolder, Belgium from Wednesday 12-Sunday 16 February.
The squad includes three Olympic medallists, seven European medallists and 13 up and coming talents making their elite European championships debut.
Leading the women’s endurance squad will be Olympic silver medallist and two-time world champion Neah Evans and Olympic bronze medallist and three-time world champion Anna Morris. They will be joined in the endurance events by Sophie Lewis and elite debutants Maddie Leech and Grace Lister.
The men’s endurance squad will be made up of seven riders, including Josh Charlton, who after showcasing his potential with a stunning individual pursuit world record at the 2024 UCI Track World Championships a few months ago, will be hoping to add further silverware at his first elite European championships.
He will be joined by last year’s elimination race silver medallist Will Tidball, as well as Rhys Britton, Will Perrett and Matt Walls who will once again don the GB jersey as he returns to track competition.
Having shown great promise at last year’s under-23 European championships, winning the scratch race and taking home two additional silver medals, Noah Hobbs will make his elite debut alongside national individual pursuit champion Michael Gill.
Competing for that coveted starry jersey in the women’s sprint races will be 2023 team sprint silver medallist Lauren Bell. Joining her and making their debuts in the elites will be under-23 team sprint European champions Rhian Edmunds, Iona Moir and Rhianna Parris-Smith.
Having secured two fourth place finishes in his debut world championships last year, Harry Ledingham-Horn will be leading sprint teammates Lyall Craig, Hayden Norris and Harry Radford in their maiden European championship appearance.
Performance Director for the Great Britain Cycling Team, Stephen Park CBE said:
“Having had some fantastic results on the track at last summer’s Olympic Games, it will be exciting to see our Olympians back in track competition competing for European titles. This event is also a fantastic chance for some of our up and coming riders, who have been inspired by the Games to make themselves known as ones to watch for LA.
“As a team LA 2028 is already firmly front of mind, and this competition gives us an exciting opportunity to try out some new line ups and new strategies and see how we stack up against the rest of Europe.”
