About our club
As the name suggests, Meon Valley Cycling Club is based in the heart of the rolling hills of the Meon Valley (Hampshire). The club draws its members from the villages of Swanmore, Bishops Waltham, Wickham and the surrounding area.
Initially riding together since 2007, it took until 2013 when the group had expanded to over 20 riders that MVCC was formed. In the same year a kit to help unite the team and to identify our group and keep together during sportive rides. The club was formed as we all live in the area and we ride together.
We are not a racing club (although we have been known to do the odd TT and cycle cross races. However as the club evolves and the demand dictates we will put a team out to other events.
Our main passion is riding together in organised sportives, self organised foreign tours which include to date: London to Paris, 4 day tour of Vendee, Pau to Barcelona, three trips to the Alps a trip to Girona and in 2018 a Trip to Mount Ventoux.
Weekly club runs take place on a Sunday and during the week in the summer. Our mantra is that no one gets left behind! Pace is between 16-18mph with an odd quicker ride in the summer!
