About our league
Welcome to the South West Cyclocross League! We provide a competitive but fun environment for all ages and abilities with events across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset.
Registration for the league will be via the British Cycling portal. There is no need to email the league prior to joining.
SWCX is open to all cyclists and cycling clubs. Non-league members are welcome to compete but only those who join the league will be allocated League points. Fees enable the league to purchase key race infrastructure. By joining the league you will be gridded and receive your own set of race numbers (meaning you can put those numbers on in the warm the night before!)
In order to qualify for overall league standings you will need to ride at least 5 out of 9 rounds and we will take into account points from your best 7 rounds (meaning you can have a couple of bad rounds!). If you volunteer for a round you are able to get average points for that round (please get the race organiser to let the League know you have volunteered).
Cyclo-Cross Age Categories 2024/25 Season
The following age categories are in effect from 1st September 2024.
- U8 born in 2017 or later
- U10 born in 2015 or 2016
- U12 born in 2013 or 2014
- Youth U14 born in 2011 or 2012
- Youth U16 born in 2009 or 2010
- Junior born in 2007 or 2008
- Senior born 1985 to 2006
- Vet 40 – 49 born 1975 to 1984
- Vet 50 – 59 born 1965 to 1974
- Vet 60 – 69 born 1964 or earlier
Race
Under 8s - 9:45am (15mins)
Under 10s and Under 12s - 10:15am (20mins)
Youth (U14s & U16s) - 11am (30mins)
Open Vet 50, Open Vet 60, Junior, Womens - 12:30 (45mins)
Open Senior, Open V40’s - 1:45pm (60mins)
