About our club
Southdown Velo is a friendly and inviting, multi-disciplinary cycling club based around Chichester and the South Downs. We have a large membership with a broad range of abilities and interests. Our members take part in all types of riding, from sedate weekend café trips to competitive racing on and off road. We focus on supporting riders of all ages and abilities to develop and achieve their full potential, and we do so while maintaining a friendly and social ethos.
Our weekly staple is a social road ride on Saturdays through the beautiful lanes of the South Downs, and members also enjoy a selection of more focused rides on Sundays and through the week. During the year we have representations at a range of sportives, audax rides, time trials, road races, XC races, and CX races. And depending on the season there are often trips abroad. Not forgetting, we also run the hugely successful series of races around Goodwood Motor Circuit each year and various local time trials.
