About our club

Welcome to Canterbury Bicycle Club (CBC)
We are a friendly club of men and women road cyclists who enjoy riding together on club rides, sportives and other challenge rides. A few of our members race or hill-climb but the majority enjoy social group rides.

We run several rides on a Saturday morning leaving at 9:00 from The Millers Arms, Mill Lane, Canterbury CT1 2AW, arriving back before lunchtime, when many riders stop for a coffee and a chat. CBC rides are non-drop rides and groups ride together or wait at the top of hills. Not really suitable for mountain bikes or hybrid bikes.

A question we often asked is "how fast do I need to be?" Our club rides are not suitable for beginner cyclists or leisurely sightseeing, but each week we have many groups setting off at different speeds, catering for a wide range of road cyclists.

CBC Yellow - averaging 12-14mph, distance about 50km - 30 miles
CBC Orange - averaging 14-16mph, distance about 60km - 35-40 miles
CBC Black - averaging 16-18mph, distance about 72km - 45 miles
CBC Fast Black - averaging 18+mph, distance about 72km - 45 miles

Membership of CBC is available through the above link at a cost of £20.00 per annum. Membership gives various benefits such as supplier discounts, free BC bronze membership and the option to purchase club kit.

You are most welcome to join us for a taster ride - please bring a helmet, road bike, essential tools, spare tubes, pump, money, mobile phone and food/drink.

We are unable to accept members under 18 years of age. The club reserves the right to decline or rescind applications. All riders are required to be able to ride at the yellow group average speed.
