This is the annual mens Road Race organised by VC Norwich. There is also a Womens Road race.

Velo Club Norwich and Islington Cycling Club announce a joint points competition in the Womens Road Races for the weekend of 23/24 June 2018.

In partnership with Islington CC, we are excited to announce an overall points competition covering both the VC Norwich event on Saturday 23 June and the Islington event on Sunday 24 June. Points will be awarded to all finishers in both races and prizes will be awarded for the riders with the highest number of points over the weekend's races. At least £100 will go to the competitions prize fund.

We will be using the course that we have now used for the past few years leaving from Great Cressingham Village Hall and finishing on the outskirts of the village on the hill.

The Course starts at Great Cressingham and goes through Ashill finishing back on an uphill finish back at Great Cressingham.

Whilst reasonably flat the course has a couple of draggy hills. The course makes for very quick paced racing with a mix of main and country roads. The course is fully marshalled by club and Accredited marshals and fully supported by NEG.

This has made for a quick challanging route with riders commenting in 2016 that it was one of the quickest races that they had competed in during the that season.

This event is part of the Eastern Road Race League, preference is given to ERRL members. 

Selection is by the highest aggregate points from the current and last season by equal representation, based on the best rider from each ERRL club in turn then second rider etc. until field is full.  Organisers can accept entries from clubs outside the League in their reserve list only, unless they do not have a full field of ERRL Members at the closing date.

 The event will take place on the ­­­Great Cressingham Course, there will be a maximum of 70 riders on the day.

 Entry on the day will/will not be available up to the maximum allowed on the permit.

Entrants are reminded they are not allowed to enter more than one event on the same day unless they are able to start and finish both events.  This is a BC and CTT Rule and anyone found to have done this will be reported to the governing body concerned.

There will be no refunds after the closing date.
