Stage One: Dalby Forest to Redcar

Stage Overview

The 2025 Lloyds Tour of Britain Women sets off from Dalby Forest in the heart of the North York Moors National Park on Thursday 5 June.

Riders will be racing from the Forestry England visitor centre at Dalby Forest, close to Pickering, across the stunning landscape of the North York Moors National Park and into the Tees Valley for a stage finish in Redcar.

While Dalby Forest may be more associated with off-road cycling, it has previously hosted a stage finish of the men’s tour back in 2008. Redcar is another venue making its debut in the women's race, nine months on from hosting a memorable stage finish in the Lloyds Tour of Britain Men 2024 that set Stevie Williams on his way to overall victory.

Speaking about the stage, Team Picnic PostNL rider Abi Smith, who is from North Yorkshire, said, “I cannot tell you how excited I am that the Lloyds Tour of Britain Women is coming to the North York Moors National Park. This area is so special to me – these are the roads that I have grown up riding and training on, so I know them like the back of my hand.

“I am really pleased that we can showcase some of our beautiful scenery up here; it is very remote, but the views are stunning. These roads are hard riding, so despite a flat finish this terrain could make for an interesting race on day one. And I am sure, as always, all our Yorkshire folk will be out in full force to support us riders on the roadside!”
