The British Cycling Awards 2023, sponsored by Leigh Day, welcomed over 460 national and international champions, volunteers and their friends and family to celebrate their sporting achievements from the past two years.
“…we now have more British riders competing at elite level across more disciplines than at any time in our past…an incredible sign of the breadth and vitality of our sport.” – Frank Slevin, British Cycling Independent Chair
On the stage, we were joined by 2021 BMX racing world champion and reigning Olympic Champion, Beth Shriever, junior downhill world champion, Jordan Williams, Paralympic champions Kadeena Cox and Neil Fachie, and many others. We welcomed new members of the Hall of Fame and celebrated the significant contribution of one of our long-serving volunteers, Jon Miles, who received a Gold Badge of Honour.

In his opening speech, our Chair, Frank Slevin, pointed to the opportunity to come together like never before at the upcoming UCI World Championships on home soil, and the importance of unity in our sport, particularly at a time when we face significant challenges due to soaring costs, global uncertainty, the impact of Covid-19 and a prolonged recession – challenges we share with many other sports.
