British Cycling is currently seeking applications for its Disciplinary and Appeal Panel. The Panel is made up of a pool of impartial independent decision-makers who may be called upon to form a Disciplinary Committee or Appeal Committee, as provided for in the Disciplinary Regulations for Cycle Sport, or the Great Britain Cycling Team Programme Membership and Major Events Selection Policy.

Applications are open to legally qualified members who will chair Disciplinary and Appeal Committee hearings and also to wider Panel members who aren’t legally qualified.

Applicants must have current or previous experience in legal practice, disciplinary procedures, judicial process, equality/employment tribunals, or child protection and safeguarding. They will also have an understanding of the sport at a grassroots and amateur level and/or elite level, along with an ability to assess, dissect and make informed reasoning concerning evidence and arguments brought before the Panel.

Disciplinary and Appeal Committee hearings are held virtually or in Manchester, usually during normal working hours. The full Panel will rarely meet as a group except to undertake induction training and continuing professional development.

Applicants for the roles of Chair must have previous experience of sitting on judicial/quasi-judicial panels as well as experience of chairing meetings or other disciplinary panels.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 5 October at 9:00am, and interviews will be held by Microsoft Teams on 18 and 21 October 2022.
