About our club

Dunmow Velo is a small Club, founded in 2015, with regular rides for road cyclitst in small groups at speeds of between 14mph and 20mph+. We group people broadly according to fitness/ experience, so you wont get left behind, and always ride together, finishing at coffee stop (or maybe a pub on a summer's evening).

Many prospective riders have not ridden in groups before, and start in one of our more leisurely/social groups.... e.g if you can ride circa 12mph by yourself, there will be a group that will help you gain confidence and fitness.

As well as club-organised rides (posted on our website), members use the club as a means of making contacts with people sharing similar abilities and interests. In the last couple of years we have seen groups of members organise mountain bike trips, and head abroad to Spain and France. We have organised safety training, and fitness sessions at local cycle tracks, run social events, and helped support participants in local sportives.

Alternatively, you might just want a partner for an hours ride mid week? Our goal is to be a friendly, social and welcoming cycling club that puts safety first and encourages new members whatever their previous cycling experience.
