National Youth & Junior Track Championships
August 16-21, 2009; Newport Velodrome (Wales)
The best young riders from around the country will converge on Newport (Wales) for the annual track championships where not only can they race for medals in their chosen events, but competitors will also be hoping to impress the coaches who later in the year will be selecting riders for the Olympic Development and Olympic Academy Programmes.

REPORTS
Day 2 -- Junior Men's Sprint, Junior Women Scratch, Under 16 Mens Scratch, Under 16 Women's Sprint -- On day 2 of the championships, four riders were crowned British Track Champions, Hannah Barnes, Ruby Miller, Kian Emadi and Rob Lambton. The day also saw some spectacular action from the somersaulting fall of John Paul in the Men’s Sprint to double World Junior Champion Becky James taking on the boys in the Junior Sprint

Day 3 -- Junior Men's Scratch, Under 16 Men's Points, Under 16 Women's Pursuit -- Three titles were decided on day 3 of the Junior & Youth Track Championships and it was a good day for Wales where the titles are being held with two of the three Gold medals going to Welsh riders Jonathan Mould and Owain Doull and the other to England’s Emily Kay.
Day 4 -- Junior Men's Pursuit, Junior Women's Pursuit, Under 16 Men's Sprint, Under 16 Women's Scratch -- Another great day of action in Newport with many a future champion racing their way to British Championship medals including Gold medals for Hannah Barnes, George Atkins and Laura Trott.

Tickets for the British Cycling Senior National Track Championships and the UCI ParaCycling Track World Championships, both of which are being hosted at the Manchester Velodrome this autumn, are now on sale through Ticketmaster.
The Senior National Track Championships will see Olympic and World Champions battle for supremacy against the stars of tomorrow for the British titles between 22 and 24 October. Between 6 and 8 November, the Great Britain Para-Cycling Team, which scooped 20 medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, will take on competitors from around the world on home turf in the UCI ParaCycling Track World Championships.
